These are the steps I take to mod the AppleTV. There are a ton of howtos out there and this is mainly a resource for myself to remember how to do it. I hope it helps someone else mod their AppleTV. Please send me anything I missed!

Asterisk Voicemail for iPhone updated to 0.12, then 0.20
I worked a lot on Asterisk Voicemail for iPhone today. I added a bunch of great icons and cleaned up the code a lot so that the next release will be the easiest ever to install.
Here is a screenshot of v0.12:
I got so motivated that I decided to rewrite the frontend in a new AJAX library. This cut load times from 7 seconds down to 2 seconds! Its very snappy now. Here is the new version 0.20 which is using the CiUI JavaScript interface
I hope to release version 0.20 in the next few days.

Free Call/SMS filtering app for iPhone
I found a *free* Call/SMS filtering app for iPhone 2.x . Its called Pysl http://code.google.com/p/pysl/ and available through Cydia (Jailbroken iPhones only). All ones in AppStore are $7 and up.
Those pay filters go by the names such as: iBlacklist, MCleaner
So if you are getting phone calls from (000)000-0000 or other annoying numbers and SMS messages you don’t want to see, you can blacklist them and they will never ring your phone. They do get logged to a file so you can see what was filtered. Very handy app.

X-Plane on iPhone
I really would like to try X-Plane on the iPhone but I’m holding out to see some sort of video of the gameplay. X-Plane is an amazing game on Mac or PC.

More AppleTV Updates
Trying to get System Preferences working so I can bridge or route the Ethernet port on the back of the AppleTV to my XBox. I was not able to accomplish this yet, but in my journey, I accomplished the following:

Firefox Installed
VNC working

Upgraded to Pwned iPhone OS v2.0.2
I got a 3G iPhone on Monday and have been messing with it.
Now I am running firmware v2.0.2.
MobileTerminal is finally usable and pretty feature rich. Visiting MobileTerminals website and reading the tips and tricks is a MUST so you know how to do Control-C, Tab, etc, etc. Click Here for the Tips and Tricks page
Tethering is working by using Nate True’s blog howto. Tethering means you can browse the Internet on your laptop by using the iPhone’s 3G network. (Apple and AT&T are considering offering this feature for $30 more per month) Click Here for Nate’s howto
VIM is installed for color editing of files through MobileTerminal
OpenSSH is installed for SSH server and client.
netatalk is installed and my phone is available via AFP on Bonjour. This means I can drag files to and from my iPhone as if it were a shared folder on a Mac.
